Itinerary
Day 1: Cusco – Cloud Forest – Bambu Lodge
Early departure from Cusco, traveling through the Sacred Valley and crossing high-Andean passes.
We visit Ninamarca (pre-Inca site) and the traditional town of Paucartambo before reaching Acjanaco Pass (3,560 m), the entrance to Manu National Park.
From here, we descend into the cloud forest, a rich ecosystem with excellent opportunities to observe birds, orchids, bromeliads, and possibly the Spectacled Bear. Overnight at Bambu Lodge.
Day 2: Bambu Lodge – Amazon Lowlands
Early morning birding around the lodge, followed by breakfast.
We continue descending toward the Amazon lowlands, spotting wildlife along the route. Later, we travel by motorized canoe along the Madre de Dios River to reach our rainforest lodge.
In the afternoon, we explore jungle trails in search of monkeys, birds, and other wildlife.
Day 3: Parrot Clay Lick – Oxbow Lake Exploration
Early visit to a parrot and macaw clay lick, where birds gather to feed on mineral-rich clay.
After breakfast, we explore rainforest trails to observe more wildlife.
In the afternoon, we visit a nearby oxbow lake by canoe, where we may encounter Hoatzins, monkeys, toucans, and other species in a unique wetland ecosystem.
Day 4: Amazon Lowlands – Cusco
After breakfast, we begin our return journey.
Travel by boat and vehicle back through the cloud forest and Andes, with additional opportunities to spot wildlife and enjoy scenic views. Arrival in Cusco in the late afternoon.
