Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to observe a remarkable diversity of bird species, including many endemics unique to this region.

Day 12 – Tarapoto to Bellavista

  • Birdwatching along the route (possibility of Comb Duck)

Day 13 – Bellavista to Plataforma

  • Full day birdwatching along the route to Plataforma using 4×4 vehicles
  • Overnight at Capito Lodge

Day 14 – Plataforma / Return to Bellavista

  • Morning birdwatching in Plataforma area (target species include Scarlet-banded Barbet and Cordillera Azul Antbird)
  • Birdwatching along the road
  • Box lunch
  • Return to Bellavista with birding stops along the way
  • Dinner
  • Overnight at Hotel Monte Verde

Day 15 – Bellavista to Tarapoto / Flight to Lima

  • Birdwatching along the route back to Tarapoto
  • Transfer to the airport
  • Afternoon flight to Lima (recommended departure around 16:00)
